Why wool?
Wool is an amazing and unique natural material.

It's naturally fire-safe.
The synthetic foam commonly used in children’s pillows and mattresses is a by-product of crude oil and is often highly flammable. Manufacturers add toxic flame retardant chemicals (like Antimony Oxide) to make them fire-safe. Children may be particularly vulnerable to the toxic effects of these chemicals, because their brain and other organs are still developing.

Warm in winter and cool in summer.
Wool is well renowned for having an incredible ability to insulate and regulate heat. Which helps your child regulate their body temperature naturally while they sleep.

Anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic.
Wool’s unique structure and natural lanolin content give it antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that also inhibit the growth of mould, mildew and dust-mites. Perfect for children who suffer from allergies.

It actually reduces indoor air pollution.
Recent scientific research at Bangor University in the United Kingdom shows that wool has the unique and astonishing ability to permanently absorb and break down volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and improve indoor air quality. This means that wool can absorb well-known air pollutants like formaldehyde, and break them down within its core permanently, leaving children with cleaner air around them while they sleep.

Please note: From time to time, when your pillow arrives it may have a woolly smell as a result of using 100% natural New Zealand wool. Being sealed inside packaging for transport and weather and humidity levels can also affect it, but a few days of airing it out and sunlight and the smell should fade.

Care information

Wash regularly in cold or warm water with a mild detergent, avoiding bleach or fabric softeners. Dry on low heat in a dryer or hang them to air dry, and iron on a low setting if desired.
